Durable, robust construction

Crossover Drives Wrap Spring clutches and clutch brakes are built stronger for longer,
trouble-free performance. Construction is all metal, with no plastic
or powdered metal parts to weaken and fail.

    Bearings

Our oil-impregnated bronze bearings provide longer life than the sintered
steel bearings on competitive clutches. Teflon-lined, steel-backed (DU) type
bearings may be added for extreme temperatures. QCB models feature needle roller
bearings on harden and ground shafts for longer bearing life.

    Springs

    Heat-treated, stress relieved chrome-silicone steel, die-drawn for a
uniform rectangular cross section and excellent surface finish. Longer
life and greater torque handling capacity than ordinary clutches.

    Clutch/brake material

All components are machined from specification-controlled SAE045 alloy
steel and 6061 tempered aluminum. The input hub, brake hub and one-piece output shaft are
case-hardened to RC 58-60 to a case depth of at least .020. There are
no powdered metal or plastic parts.

    Lubrication

Lifetime lubrication with rust-inhibiting grease prevents fretting
corrosion of mating surfaces. Grease fittings can be fitted for severe
    applications.

    Solenoids

High-quality, industrial grade solenoids with coils completely
    encapsulated in rugged steel housings.

    Actuators

Delrin AF actuators have high impact strength, high energy
    absorption and excellent wear.
